Discover Scuba Diving
Try scuba diving for the first time with just a minimum of theory and skills in small groups
If you’re interested in scuba diving, but unsure if you want to enroll in a certification class, a DSD, Discover Scuba Diving is the perfect option.
In a very short time, you’ll take your first breaths underwater surrounded by thousands of colourful fish.
Our attentive instructors specialize with first-time divers who can safely enjoy the beautiful dive sites of Amed & Tulamben. At WSD, we conduct Discover Scuba Diving in small groups of usually 2 participants (max ratio 3:1).
You will first register online and watch videos to learn about the the basic diving safety rules – never hold your breath is the most important one.
We will then fit you with scuba gear and one of our permanent PADI instructors will explain how to use it safely. You’ll practice 4 basic diving skills in Jemeluk Bay with pool-like conditions, and then continue with a guided open water dive on a beautiful reef at a maximum depth of 12m. This first dive is usually followed by a second without skills and we always try to change the dive site when possible. The second dive site is usually Lipah, the best site in Amed/Tulamben area to spot marine turtles !
At WSD, this program is available in 5 languages : French, German, English, Spanish & Indonesian.
We will pick you up at your hotel in Amed at around 8am and you will be back before 2pm.
Let your kids start Scuba Diving from 8 years old! The PADI Bubbblemaker program is available for chidren of age 8-9 yo! They will use the exact same dive gear with just a smaller scuba tank at a maximum depth of 2m in the ocean.
They will see 1000s of fish, colourful corals and even marine turtles!
